Welcome to our guide on mastering crafting in Pocket Mortys! Crafting plays a crucial role in the game, allowing you to create powerful items and upgrade your Mortys. However, some Mortys are more challenging to find and capture than others. In this guide, we'll cover some essential tips and tricks to help you navigate the world of Pocket Mortys crafting.
Understanding Morty Capture
The number of Mortys you need to capture with a manipulator chip keeps growing with each update to Pocket Mortys. However, some Mortys are harder to find and capture than others.

Most Mortys can be acquired by spending Blips and Chitz tickets, but it's a randomized process. Below, we'll cover how to nab the rarest Mortys or those with challenging capture methods.
While trying to catch rare Mortys, keep in mind a strategy that some may consider "cheating." Pocket Mortys autosaves regularly, but not constantly. If you mess up and accidentally kill the Morty you're trying to capture, you can shut down the app and restart for another chance.
At most, you'll only be a minute or two behind your previous location, and the rare Morty should respawn for another capture attempt.
Keep in mind that Mortys numbered 179 and up are currently only available to those in the multiplayer beta. If you can't find those Mortys yet, they won't be available until the multiplayer update rolls out to everyone.
Finding Rare Mortys in Pocket Mortys
About 20 Mortys are designated as "rare," meaning they spawn less frequently in dimensions or require specific capture methods.
- Mortys 68 – 79
- Mortys 100 – 101
- Morty 111
- Mortys 115 – 116
- Mortys 157 – 158
- Morty 165
- Morty 178
- Mortys 182 – 183
- Mortys 187 – 188
- Mortys 192 – 193
- Mortys 197 – 198
For most of these Mortys, there's no trick to capturing them other than continuously exploring dimensions. If you don't find the one you're looking for, don't defeat the trainer. Instead, lose a battle or return to the Citadel using a courier flap for a new batch of randomized Mortys.
Some Mortys only appear after you've reached a set number of badges. For example, Morticia appears after earning 45 badges, and Jerry Morty appears after earning 17 badges.
If you're struggling to find a particular Morty, try beating a few trainers to earn more badges first.
How to Get One True Morty and Power Level Egg Mortys
Egg Morty is acquired by completing the "New Chef In The Rickchen" quest by giving a Purified Fleeb to Masy Kallerax after acquiring eight badges. However, leveling Egg Morty to hatch into One True Morty can be challenging.
There are four main methods for leveling up Egg Morty:
- Place Egg Morty at the top spot of your group in battles.
- Send Egg Morty and a group of lower-level Mortys together at Boot Camp.
- Combine Mega Seeds to create Level Up Seeds and use them on Egg Morty.
- Use a Mr. Meeseeks box during a Council of Ricks battle.
It's likely you'll use a combination of these methods to level up Egg Morty.
How to Get Sun / Moon Morty
Sun and Moon Mortys are challenging to acquire as they spawn rarely and use an Implode attack on the first turn, making capture difficult.
To capture Sun or Moon Morty, immediately use a manipulator chip on the first turn of battle, even though the Morty is at full health. Repeat this process until successful.
Combining two Moon Mortys gets you Sun Morty, and two Sun Mortys result in the rarer Black Hole Morty.
How to Get Mortys from the Morty Games
Five Mortys can only be acquired by completing each tournament in the Morty Games:
- Headism Morty for beating Show Me What You Got
- Turbulent Juice Morty for beating Interdimensional Morty-Thon 14
- Jerry Fan Morty for beating Band Of Jerrys
- Exoskeleton Morty for beating Snowball’s Morty Pageant
- Sexy Devil Morty for beating Mr. Needful’s Vice & Virtue
Completing the Morty Games can be lengthy, but it's necessary to acquire these Mortys.
